About
Cat Dale is a writer and filmmaker whose narrative work examines institutional trauma and gendered cultural perceptions. Her scripts include Mount Pleasant, winner of the ScreenCraft Pilot Launch, a featured script on The Black List, and a second-round selection for the Sundance Institute Episodic Lab. She also co-wrote Beasts Undiscovered, a quarterfinalist for the Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting and a project developed with Myriad Pictures and Orbital Studios.

Her short films—Rubber & Glue, Wildcat, and Touch—have received multiple awards and screened at festivals nationally and internationally. She has participated in the The Black List and StudioCanal CannesFilm Unlimited writing residency and develops feature projects including Obscure, Plain, & Little, and Clara Boone.

In addition to her creative work, Dale served as a second-round script reader for the Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition and as a reader for Stowe Story Labs. She has also served on the Sidewrite Screenwriting Jury for the Sidewalk Film Festival. Dale holds an MFA in Screenwriting from the University of Texas at Austin and is an Associate Professor at Montana State University, where she teaches film production and screenwriting.
