ABOUT

LOGLINE

A Montana teen’s final bookmobile shift turns into a glittering disaster when the school board president—her mother—finds banned books on board, sparking a roadside confrontation over free thought and corporate crayons.

Short Narrative Film. Dramedy.

WORLD

Rural Montana might as well be a different country from the rest of the United States. Patience is the religion here, courtesy the default, and politics can live far the f--- away.

THE CHARACTERS

COLBY JONES (the driver): 17 years, 11 months, 29 days of this…1 day until freedom. About to leave for college, Colby drives the rural bookmobile as her summer job to save enough money for the car she’ll get-the-hell-away in.

DEB JONES (the mom): Has a great old political button collection, she especially likes rocking the vintage Bush/Quayle. She runs the school board, PTA, the yearly kids clothing swap—even the Carter County read-a-thon and spelling bee every spring.

She’s very i-n-v-o-l-v-e-d.

THE BOOKMOBILE (the beast): Big, blue, and a beaut. 270k miles on the odometer don’t mean a thing to this ride, she’ll be running another 100k without skipping a beat. She’s a celebrity to the kids in middle-of-nowhere Montana and knows how to make a dramatic, dusty entrance.
